There are many measuring systems any woman can use as a guide but none of them are 100% accurate; measuring for a brasiere is not a particular science. For a stress-free exercise, here is a common-sense adivce that will get you as close to a 99.9% perfect fit.

Begin with this simple and easy step. Lets say you own a bra that fits you perfectly; how do you know it's a perfect fitting? Without any calculations. Below are some fitting guidlines.

Band Size:

Ensure the band around your rib cage fits properly. If the band is unyielding or uncomfortable, then it is too small. Telling sign is your band size is out of your range include breasts falling out from the bottom of your brasiere or the back riding up. The correct band size will fit securely around you back. In breif, the back and front of the band should be even and parallel downwards. Please click to download size guide. (Back Sizes Guide)

The Band Test:

You will need someone to help you with this exercise; test your brasiere by placing hook in the middle setting, then ask somebody to put 2 fingers between your back and the back of your bra, and to turn their hand 90 degrees. The fingers should be firm to the position and your helper should not be able to pull the bra away from you back.

A newly worn brasiere should be able to pass this test with the grip on the middle fitting, it will let you tighten the bra as it goes through normal care process and wearing. Please do not try a bra on its tightest fitting, it should fit regardless if it is on its loosest or set in the middle hook. Bras that no longer fit securely or wear out should be replaced as they don't support or boost your shape under clothing.

Cup Size:

The cup should be sufficient that your breasts are controlled and don't bulge out of it, if its an underwire brasiere, ensure the underwires are not resting on or jabbing at any breast tissue. It's best if the fabric panel between the cups is steadily against your chest-bridge, however with some products and designs -  especially soft cup bras thats without underwire, this will not be precise.

Well, you know now how your bra should fit, we offer the following fitting guides.  Bearing in mind the many various measuring methods, this is the closest we've come to an accurate way to measure for a bra.  This system works well for establishing band size.  Cup size is a more difficult calculation so don't be surprised if the calculation results in the wrong cup size.  You may need to adjust the cup and/or band size to achieve the perfect fit for your body shape and a particular bra.  Please bear in mind that every bra does not work for every person.  This is why we always recommend that you have a fitting each time you buy a bra.
